Seven meetings booked and five qualified from cold calling alone, with zero no-shows
The ICP re-cut mid-engagement once buyers kept naming the same decision owner
The geography question answered: the offer lands in India, with real demand behind it
They did not commission leads. They commissioned an answer.
An early-stage B2B revenue consultancy, founder-led and under ten people, had never run outbound. It came to us not to buy a lead-volume machine but to answer a question it could not answer from the inside: does the offer land, and in which market? The brief was unusually clear about it. One genuinely well-qualified meeting a week was worth more than ten calls with the wrong profile.
The plan was geography-led, Southeast Asia first with a small India carve-out running alongside. Nobody had tested whether the message landed anywhere, and the ICP named Founders and Sales Leaders as the buyer, which fits a revenue consultancy except that nobody had checked it against a live conversation.
Where they were
First-ever outbound run, with no proof that any market responds
Buyer assumed to be the Founder or Sales Head, never tested on a live call
A Southeast Asia-first plan built on reasonable but untested assumptions
A single contact per account, so one redirect could stall the whole deal
One channel, run with discipline.
A single-channel sprint. 1,248 dials across the engagement, deliberately disciplined volume rather than spray. That matched the client's own quality-over-volume brief, which is what made the two an easy fit.
The buyer redirect. Outreach kept reaching founders, CEOs and sales heads who agreed there was a fit, then pointed at the same person as the real decision owner: the Marketing Head. Targeting was re-cut around that live signal partway through.
Multi-threading. More than one contact per account, so a single "talk to marketing" redirect could not stall a deal, with the founder used as a warm internal referral rather than a cold restart.
What changed
India validated: demand is real and the meetings were qualified with a genuine need
Buyer identified as the Marketing Head, with the founder becoming the warm internal referral
Focus pivoted to India once the Southeast Asia half returned a weaker signal
Accounts multi-threaded, and a live warm pipeline carried into month two
What one month proved.
There is a symmetry worth naming. This client sells one core idea to its own customers: diagnose the revenue engine before you fix it. The sprint handed them that same diagnosis about their own outbound, and the buyer turned out to sit one seat over from where the list had assumed. Month two started from a live pipeline rather than from zero, with the Marketing Head opened from day one.
