20 meetings booked from a standing start, every one cold-call sourced
A portable ICP validated in Canada and replicated into the US within days
Meeting velocity rising month over month, nine in the first two weeks of August alone
Strong product, and no idea who actually buys it.
The client is an AI platform selling to IT consulting and digital transformation teams, buyers who already live in the technology and do not need to be taught what AI is. There was no outbound infrastructure, no warmed sending capacity, and no defined view of who inside that market converts.
Targeting led with industry and geography: pick a country, then work out the person. The kickoff messaging was templated and AI-generated, and across the first weeks it drew almost no response on email or LinkedIn. The task was not to run more outreach. It was to find the signal buried in a broad, unproven market.
Where they were
No outbound engine, no warmed domains, inboxes or dialer motion
ICP defined by geography rather than persona, unproven and far too broad
Templated AI-generated messaging producing near-zero email and LinkedIn response
No evidence of who actually buys, or which channel deserved the investment
Three compounding systems.
Data and ICP engine. Roughly 16,000 contacts sourced across the US and Canada, segmented by persona, seniority and market. Enrichment mapped role, firm type and reachability, turning a geography-first guess into a persona-first target.
Multi-channel outreach. Cold calling ran as the always-on engine from day one. Email launched after a month of warm-up to protect deliverability, and LinkedIn ran in parallel on the same accounts.
Qualification feedback loop. Every conversation scored, and what the SDRs heard on live calls fed back into the ICP week by week. Targeting sharpened while the engagement ran rather than after it.
What changed
Three channels live in parallel: cold calling, email and LinkedIn
A proven, portable persona validated in Canada and replicated to the US
20 meetings booked with velocity rising month over month
A clear read on the winning channel and buyer, so spend can concentrate
What moved in 90 days.
Persona beat geography, and it was not close. Canadian conversations kept surfacing the same pattern, both teams aligned on a persona-first ICP, and that model dropped into the US in early August and booked on the first day. The channel data is equally unambiguous: every meeting came from the phone. Email and LinkedIn are built and healthy at the top of the funnel, with the copy identified as the separable, fixable gap.
